Planner Review #2: Oh Happy Dani Undated Weekly Planner

Hello and welcome back!

Today’s planner is from the brand Oh Happy Dani, a brand started by Danielle Coke, which aims to “encourage hope, inspire justice, and guide people to take action in pursuit of the ultimate good.”

The planner includes cute + inspirational stickers, as well as sticky notes and monthly stickers to customize your planner. The planner is undated, so the inclusion of monthly stickers is a nice touch (especially if you have shitty handwriting like me).

This planner also includes a front pocket page and a list of holidays and their respective dates for 2022 and 2023. The rest of the planner is undated, so it wouldn’t necessarily have to be used during those two years.

There are 12 undated monthly calendars and 12 monthly goal sheets, which were why I bought this planner originally. It includes a monthly to-do list, a spot to track all the things you’re consuming and loving that month, and some nice reflection spots.

After each monthly goal spread and undated monthly calendar, there are six weeks of undated weekly spreads. This spread is typical for weekly planners, with horizontal rectangles given for each day of the week. However, this spread also includes a box for top priorities and notes columns in the margins.

The weekly spread for this planner

In general, I try to avoid weekly planners with this horizontal layout. My brain can’t visualize the week that way, and as someone with large handwriting, if I’m given all that blank space to fit a lot of information, it usually ends up crowded and illegible.

I broke my no-horizontal-layout rule mainly for the monthly goal planning pages and the inclusive and intentional design of the planner. That type of big picture monthly view is important to me and I often find that I have a list of non-urgent — but would be nice to get done this month — to-do list, which this layout has a section for. And as a relatively sentimental person, I love the section to list out all the culture you’re consuming that month.

Although I can’t work with this specific weekly layout, it’s one of the most popular layouts for a reason! But it’s less common to have a planner with this layout undated, so if you’re someone who likes to swap out planners throughout the year, this is a nice option. Plus, it truly is a beautiful and well made planner!

Who I think this planner would be good for:

  • Someone looking to keep track of simpler to-do lists

  • Those who get overwhelmed with planner layouts that have lots of sections

  • Folks who appreciate the art and mission behind the brand

~ Planner Vibes ~

  • Social justice warriors (non-derogatory)

  • Simple, yet colorful

  • Stickers

  • Neat, yet playful, handwriting
